Akihabara, sometimes referred
to as Electric City, has over over 600 shops selling electronic
gadgets and electrical appliances. It was fun to look around and some of
the electronics there were not yet available in the U.S.A.
We found that most of the
prices were comparable to the United States, but the cellular phones were
much smaller and less expensive. Unfortunately, they were not for
export. Before making a purchase you need to make sure that the merchandise
is for export.
