Le Meridien Grand Pacific Tokyo

Le Meridien Grand Pacific Tokyo was our home during our vacation. This five-star hotel treated us in royal style. We were lucky to be able to stay here as the hotel was celebrating its grand opening and had special rates on rooms.

The hotel had several beautiful lobbies with attendants standing throughout.  It seemed the sole job of these young men and women was to greet you with a smile and bow as you walked by.

A view of the front desk. Service was excellent.

This was our view during breakfast our first morning at one of the hotel's restaurants.

The atmosphere was wonderful, but we quickly learned that we needed to eat elsewhere if we were going to stay on budget!

Etsuko was one of the hotel's concierges. We spoke to her so often that we felt like friends by the end of the week. Her friendly and knowledgeable advice was invaluable during our adventure.

One day, we were interested in visiting a Japanese family through the Home Visit program so we asked Etsuko about it. She said she would check into the details for us. That night, we came back to our room to find a thoughtful letter (LARGE image 104 kb) detailing the program slipped under our door.

Although we did not have time to visit a Japanese family, we were very impressed with Etsuko's diligence and service.

After each long day of site seeing (we walked about 12 miles per day) we would return to this illuminated view of our hotel.
Welcome home!
